2021 Civic

Honda made some changes to the Civic's trim lineup for 2021, eliminating the Si but adding the Type R Limited. It also discontinued the coupe body style, leaving the sedan and hatchback styles as the two options. With the sedan, you have five trims: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring. The hatchback has four main trims: LX, Sport, EX, and Sport Touring. The Type R performance-oriented hatchback comes in the Type R and Type R Limited Edition trims.

The Civic's exterior now features a distinctive C-shaped taillight design, while the hatchback has a larger backside, high-mounted spoiler, and oversized faux vents located on the bumper. The Type R resembles a sports car, and its Limited Edition is available in Phoenix Yellow color.

The 2021 Civic has plenty of engine options, all of which give you ample power. The base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, found on the sedan LX and Sport trims, produces 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. The standard 1.5-liter turbocharged engine found on the EX, EX-L, and Touring sedan trims as well as the Sport and Sport Touring hatchback trims get 174 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The high performance Type R hatchback gets its power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The turbocharged engine is mated with a continuously variable automatic (CVT) transmission. If you prefer to drive the vehicle with three pedals, the hatchback is available with the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a six-speed manual transmission.

Both the sedan and hatchback provide you with ample cargo space. The sedan has 15.1 cubic feet of space, while the hatchback has 25.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 46.2 cubic feet when you fold down those seats, which is standard in the midsize sedan category. Rear legroom is also abundant with 37.4 inches in the sedan.

The Civic's easy-to-use standard infotainment system also includes convenient physical knobs mounted near the 5-inch display. It features Bluetooth, a USB port, and four speakers. Technology upgrades abound on the Sport trim or higher and include a 7-inch touch-screen display, another USB port, satellite and HD radio, voice recognition, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. You can also upgrade the number of speakers to eight, 10, or 12.

All 2021 Civic models come equipped with the impressive Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver aids. Some of these features include road-departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, and automatic emergency braking.
