Check Your Timing Belt

The timing belt, or timing chain, is a piece of vital equipment in your vehicle. The timing belt allows the crankshaft and the camshaft to work in harmony. If the timing belt on the vehicle goes out, your vehicle will most likely suffer serious damage to the engine.

In order to avoid timing belt issues, it is important to change the belt according to manufacturer's recommendations. Usually, the belt should be changed every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. If your vehicle has a timing chain instead of a belt, these are not normally changed and are designed to last for your vehicle's lifetime. If you hear a high-pitched screech coming from the belt, have it checked right away.

If you need to have your vehicle's timing belt checked or changed, contact Priority Honda Hampton. The Honda repair department can perform this service and provide other repairs and services for your vehicle.
